Project Title: Quiz Application based on Semantic Web Technologies
Introduction:

Nobody can deny that the use of computer and the internet has brought a revolution in the human history in the twenty first century. It has made many difficult tasks easy. The existing manual system for the Quiz testing is still being used by many institutions to test the students and then, preparing results summery by the examiners to manually is really a tiresome and time consuming system.

In our project, we are going to prepare such an automated MCQs application system that will replace the old manual MCQs Testing system. the old manual MCQs  system requires that students  taking the MCQs test are needed to assure  their presence and the testing place within the stipulated time however, the automated MCQs Testing system , we  are developing will allow the students to take the test online, from where he /she wants to take the test.

The students will take the test online through the automated MCQs testing system and after finishing the test, they will submit the test and within a minute or two, he/she will get the result here, the whole process of marking and preparing results will be done by the simulator. In this way, the examiner does not need to prepare the results by him. Another advantage of this automated MCQs testing system will be that it is very easy to operate on, even the person, with a limited knowledge of operating the computer can run this program to conduct test, to give results to the students. Moreover, getting access to the saved document in this automated system is more feasible than that of the manual system because the person can have an access to the required document simply by clicking on the name of the document. This system can also be used by the administrators of the University for keeping records of student names, discipline, courses, marks etc. The administrator can apply a password on the program to avoid the chances of insecurity of data.

Existing System/ Description of the Current Situation:

 In our project, we are going to prepare such an automated MCQs application system that will replace the old manual MCQs Testing system. In this automated system, the computer which checks the responses automatically and finally gives the result to the participants of the competition. Another importance of this automated system can directly be obtained from this that any person with some knowledge of operating the computer can run this program to conduct an ‘MCQ Quiz competition and give result, within written a short span of time.

 
Problem Statement:

We find the following problems in the existing manual MCQs Application system

§  The first problem is lecturer need spend more time on grading. This is because lecturer needs to check student paper one by one.

§  Another problem is difficult for students to answer quiz from one location.

§  It takes much time for the students to get know how about their results.

Second problem is after submitting quiz; it does not show marks of a student very easily.

Thirdly Quizzes are not makes in a same format or same software. For example some quizzes are only accessible for android and some are not easily accessible. Fourthly quiz format and instruction should be easy. Test maker make a quiz for students according to his/her own rules and regulation.

Proposed Solution:

The automated MCQs Application system that we are going to develop will solve the problem. Today is 21th Century and a computer plays a pivotal role in every field of life. In educational system without computer and internet it is incomplete. Mostly Quizzes are held online in this Era. So for this purpose we choose a Semantic Web Technologies for creating a better, dynamic and knowledgeable Quiz application.  This Quiz application we are going to make is mostly related to selected subjects.

1)      The system will automatically check the tests of the students and, will provide the result to each student after submitting the test within two or three minutes.

2)      The test takers will be able to take the test, anywhere because our system provides them with best opportunity to take the test online.

This provides a very simple procedure for the users to operate on the program and therefore, it is economical, efficient and faster.   Our quiz application system is totally different from other quizzes. In our project we want to develop, how defined time is important for quiz. We are working the structure of our project that is how quiz format should be. We want to develop a Quiz Application which is more different from other quiz.
